* Release date changed from 10th March, 1997 (Monday, normal UK release day) to the 12th March, 1997 within a week of the release so chart position could have been higher. Rumours circulated this was done to reduce European imports effecting USA sales.
The European version contains the additional Joe Perry track, Falling Off. A further additional track, Fall Together is present on the Japanese version (Sony Record SRCS 8263).
The only known album format to have been released by Sony/Columbia is the CD variant. Its the first time an Aerosmith studio LP has not been released on vinyl.
To promote the Japanese Tour in March 1998, Sony Records released a special edition of the Nine Lives album in an gatefold cardboard design which included the Box of Fire Bonus Disc (Sony SRCS 8611 disc 2) and an additional booklet (with photos, some setlists from NL and Japanese Tours and list of Nine Lives concert dates to March 14, 1998. As customary in Japanese releases, a lyrics sheet was provided (in English and Japanese) for both the Nine Lives and Bonus Disc (Columbia SRCS 8610-1).
| On March 1st, 1999 in the
UK (and the rest of Europe), the Nine Lives album was
re-issued with an additional track, "I Don't Want To
Miss A Thing" appended. The CD cover was also
changed to be the "cat on the wheel", something
which was done in the summer of 1997 in the USA ( Columbia COL 485020 2 |

In September 1998, Columbia released in Europe, "Classics Live! Complete" which is "Classics Live !" and "Classics Live! II" on one CD. In the past, Columbia has released special releases to mark European Tours (eg Pandora's Toys) and may have had this in the works when the European 98 tour was scrapped. Alternatively it was using the success of Armegeddon to do some repackaging. |
