MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

 

The Amercian MTV Video Music Awards began in 1984 and usually have been hosted at the Universal Amphitheater, Universal City, California.

Since 1987, Aerosmith have made regular appearances at the award shows collecting numerous awards and/or making the occasion more special with a live performance.

In 1994, Aerosmith were guests on the inaurgural European MTV Video Music Awards in Berlin, Germany.

 

September 11, 1987. 4th MTV VMA, Universal Ampitheater, Universal City, CA.
Special guest appearance of Steven Tyler and Joe Perry with RUN DMC for a performance of "Walk This Way".

September 7, 1988. 5th MTV VMA, Universal Ampitheater, Universal City, CA.
Nominated (2)  for Best Group Video ("Dude (Looks Like A Lady"), Best Stage Performance  ("Dude (Looks Like A Lady")
Aerosmith perform "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)".

Aerosmith kick off the show (introduced by Tom Jones) with "Walk On Water" follwing by "Cryin'".
Aerosmith win Best Rock Group category.

September 4, 1997. 14th MTV VMA, Radio City Music Hall, New York.
Nominated (1) for Best Hard Rock Video ("Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)",
Aerosmith (1) win Best Hard Rock video category with "Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)".

November 18, 1997. 4th European MTV VNA, The Ahoy, Rotterdam, Holland.
Aerosmith perform a medley of "Pink and Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)".
Aerosmith win Best Live Act and best Rock Act categories.

September 10, 1998. 15th MTV VMA, Universal Ampitheater, Universal City, CA.

Special guest appearance of Joe Perry (playing his Guild) and Steven Tyler with Kid Rock (and RUN DMC) for a performance of "Walk This Way".
